The Colleen Drive home redesign was a little different from my usual projects—and in the best way. As an interior designer, I’m often brought in to transform a space from the ground up. But in this case, the client had just purchased a newly renovated home with some bold design choices already in place. My role was to thoughtfully blend those existing elements with the client’s softer, more personalized style through intentional space planning, furnishings, and curated decor. decor.
The kitchen was already a showstopper with its striking black waterfall island and modern white cabinetry. It had great bones and needed just a few thoughtful additions to make it feel like home. We added black barstools that echoed the island’s statement-making look while grounding the space. Brass fixtures and a bold, sculptural light fixture over the island kept the space warm and elevated—perfect for both casual breakfasts and hosting friends.
One of the biggest challenges was the long wall in the living room. Rather than trying to fight it, we let it work for us. A natural wood mantle, oversized mirror, and a clean-lined fireplace helped create a cozy, inviting focal point. We anchored the seating with modern, white swivel chairs and layered in soft textures and organic touches, like greenery and natural stone accessories. The result is a space that feels curated, yet casual—perfect for conversation or quiet evenings at home.
The dining area needed to feel welcoming but refined. We went with a round table to make the space feel more inclusive and conversational. A black and gold chandelier adds height and a touch of drama, while neutral upholstered chairs keep it grounded. A vintage-inspired rug and framed art add depth, making this room feel finished without being overdone.
This project included the living room, dining room, primary bedroom, and her son’s room—and it was all about blending styles and making each space feel functional and personalized. The home already had bold bones, but by layering in comfort, warmth, and intentional design, we created a place that truly feels like a reflection of the people who live there.
Interior design isn’t always about starting from scratch. Sometimes it’s about honoring what’s already there and making it work even better. And in this home, that harmony is exactly what we achieved. Are you dreaming of a space transformation? I’d love to help bring your vision to life! Let’s create something beautiful together.
