A Calm, Coastal Home by Interior Designer Collins & Co.
Sea Air is a beautiful new build located just outside of Sarasota, and I’m so excited to share this Sea Air home redesign with you. I had the opportunity to work with the homeowners from the very beginning, which allowed us to create a home that feels calm, functional, and personal. As their interior designer, I guided them through every step—from design selections to furniture placement and final styling. final styling.
The couple, along with their dog, wanted a peaceful place to unwind after long workdays. They leaned into a soft, neutral palette and clean, natural finishes. Together, we brought their vision of a fresh and welcoming retreat to life.
From Lot to Lifestyle
Right after they signed the contract on the lot, we jumped into the design process. We started with design center selections, choosing finishes that felt timeless and bright. We selected light cabinetry, soft-toned flooring, and warm neutral colors that set the tone for the entire home.
After choosing the finishes, we mapped out the layout. We focused on flow, function, and how they would use the space every day. Each decision supported a calm, open feel throughout the home.
Designing Every Detail
Once construction wrapped up, I shifted into furnishing and styling. In the dining room, we placed a natural wood table as the centerpiece. Black spindle chairs added contrast and structure. Above it all, a lantern-style chandelier brought scale and soft drama without overwhelming the space.
In the kitchen, we continued the neutral, coastal palette. White cabinets, warm quartz countertops, and a subtle tile backsplash created a bright, inviting look. To bring in texture and warmth, we added woven bar stools and clear glass pendants that softened the space while keeping it clean and open.
Creating a Space That Feels Like Home
From start to finish, we focused on comfort and simplicity. Every piece served a purpose. Every room felt connected. This project reflects what I love most about being a designer—helping people turn a house into a home. Sea Air now feels effortless, serene, and truly theirs. It’s the perfect example of how thoughtful design, clear vision, and early planning can come together beautifully.
