As a mom, I know exactly what those chaotic days are like. I have two small kids while also running an entire business.
If you can take one thing from me, it’s this. You can have all of these things and still live in style.
I work with a lot of families, and many of them are repeat clients.
Why?
Not only because I can relate to and understand their needs and goals for their homes but because I’ve spent years refining how to bring that balance into a space.
This is a common concern clients share with me. “I want a stunning home… but I need it to be liveable.”
That’s where thoughtful design enters the conversation. Your home should support your life, not become an obstacle when you’re already trying to figure out what to feed everyone for dinner.
I’ve always believed in the impact of a beautiful space. Because when we look good, we feel good, and that goes with our living circumstances.
Having someone who understands these details is the first step toward creating a home that holds both beauty and ease.
If you’ve followed along for a while, you’ll know I talk about performance fabrics often and for good reason.
They’re almost always my first recommendation when clients mention children, pets, or simply wanting to feel relaxed in their own home without constantly worrying about spills or wear.
Performance fabrics remove the stress. You should always feel comfortable in your own home, and if there’s a mess, it takes half the time and cost to clean.
You can trust me when it comes to my research. Over time, I’ve made it a priority not only to experience these materials firsthand but also to visit suppliers, understand how they perform, and see how they hold up in real environments.

And it doesn’t stop at upholstery.
Surfaces like kitchen countertops play just as important a role. Some clients love the character that develops over time, while others prefer something more resistant to staining and wear. Neither is wrong, it simply comes down to how you live and what feels right for you.
The same goes for flooring.
Not every home is a shoes-off home. You might have a dog that sheds constantly, or little ones who treat the floor as part of the dining experience more often than not.
My current favorite find has to be a brass drawer topper which you can purchase here.
I have it in my kitchen for my trash drawer, and it’s such a thoughtful detail. Not only does it elevate the space, but it’s also incredibly practical for cleaning.
Ultimately, my role as a designer is to understand your lifestyle fully and guide you towards materials that not only look beautiful, but support the way you live every single day.
Nine times out of ten clients worry about clutter.
The toy cars scattered across the sitting room, the vacuum that never quite makes it back to where it belongs… it’s familiar, and completely normal.
When a space is designed well, everything has a place. Not in a rigid, restrictive way but in a way that feels effortless to maintain.
Take a recent home office design as an example.
For some, leaving everything out at the end of the day works and it is your home, after all. But for others, there’s a real desire to close the door on the day, both physically and mentally.

That’s the beauty of built-ins you can simply shut away.
One of the very first things I look at when I’m handed plans from a builder is the layout itself.
Where are the windows placed?
How do the doors open?
Do the rooms actually make sense for how the home will be lived in?
More often than not, I find myself making adjustments.
These are the details that are often overlooked early on, but they have one of the biggest impacts on how a home works as a whole.
With the right layout the home starts to support you without you even noticing.
At it’s core, a project should always come back to balancing beauty and ease.
When the right questions are asked early on, so many of those small, everyday frustrations never have the chance to exist in the first place.
This is why my approach has always been deeply personal.
Please tell me everything you love about your style and the spaces that inspire you, but more importantly I want to know how you live.
If you have any quirky nighttime rituals, what you do first thing in the morning.
The things that frustrate you about your home right now, even if you’ve learned to live around them.
These are the details that matter most.
If you’ve been feeling like your home isn’t quite working the way it should, you’re not alone and it doesn’t have to stay that way.
With the right level of thought, intention, and understanding, it is absolutely possible to create a space that feels calm, considered, and effortless to live in.
